An elderly couple was injured when security forces fired pellet rounds at them when they resisted the arrest of their son in Tral area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district.
Pellet terror continued on the 43rd day of unrest with a seven-year-old boy becoming the latest casualty in old Srinagar city on Saturday. Junaid Ahmad, a seven-year-old boy was injured when security forces fired pellets in Qalamdanpora area of Nawabazar in Srinagar's old city. He was immediately rushed to the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital where doctors describe his condition as critical.

Abdul Qayom, 80 and his wife were injured in the firing and have been shifted to hospital. Sources said forces had raided their house at Kamla village to arrest their son Shabir Ahmad Falahi, a Jamat-e-Islami leader who is wanted in provoking protests.
Falahi however was not present in the house and forces tried to arrest his brother Noor Mohommad. Qayoom and his wife resisted and forces opened pellet fire injuring the couple.
Police said five incidents of stone pelting were reported from Anantnag, Baramulla and Sopore on Saturday.
"These incidents were reported from Dooru in Anantnag, Sheeri in Baramulla and Seelo, Hib Dangerpora and Pothkhah in Sopore. The miscreants assembled on roads and pelted stones on police and security forces," a police spokesman said.
Police said restrictions under section 144 CrPC remained in force in the Valley today. "However, curfew was imposed in Srinagar, Anantnag and Pampore towns only," he added
Additional Director General of CRPF SN Shrivastava met Governor NN Vohra and briefed him about their role and responsibility in the maintenance of internal security in the state.
"The Governor expressed concern and stressed the crucial importance of Security Forces exercising restraint in dealing with arising situation," said an official spokesman.
