Patna: Retired Police IG’s daughter commits suicide a day before her marriage

In a tragic turn, the daughter of retired Inspector General of Police reportedly committed suicide by jumping off the terrace off her building in Patna early Sunday morning. The departed was retired Inspector General of Police Uma Shankar Sudhanshu’s daughter.  

Manu Maharaj, SSP Patna told news agency ANI: “Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide, we've recovered a mobile. Victim's family is in a state of shock, so we haven't questioned them yet, no suicide note has been found. Further investigation is underway. “

The police have reportedly recovered a mobile phone from the spot and no suicide note has been found yet.  The police are still trying to ascertain why she committed suicide. The woman's marriage was scheduled to take place on Monday with Kishanganj District Magistrate. She was a doctor by profession.
