The Patna High Court on Monday dismissed Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav's plea challenging the Bihar government's order to vacate the bungalow allotted to him in his capacity as the deputy chief minister.
Tejashwi will now have to move out from his residence in Patna after a division bench of Chief Justice AP Sahi and Justice Anjana Mishra rejected his petition challenging a single-judge order dated October 6, 2018, that had also turned down his petition against the direction.
Tejashwi's present address, a sprawling bungalow in the vicinity of CM Nitish Kumar's residence and the Raj Bhawan, was allotted to him when he was appointed the deputy CM of Bihar. However, after the fall of the Mahagathbandhan government, the state allotted him a different bungalow at Polo Road and asked him to vacate his present residence.
"He cannot raise a complaint on the decision so taken, simply because the present bungalow is more suited to him," the court noted.
Prior to that, Tejashwi had also written to Nitish to permit him to retain the bungalow, though he had later accused him of "spying" by installing HD security cameras in the direction of his home.
