The Pakistani Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Pathankot attack has reportedly claimed that Indian authorities 'failed' to provide evidence to prove that Pakistan-based terrorists had stormed the IAF base, saying the attack was a drama staged by India to malign Pakistan.

According to Pakistan Today, the Pakistan JIT has finalised its report and will submit it to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif .

The JIT members had visited the Pathankot airbase on March 29 where National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials briefed them and showed them the route from where the attackers stormed the airbase.

Quoting a source privy to the details of the report, the daily said, "The JIT report has concluded that the Indian authorities had prior information about the attackers. India used the attack as a tool to expand its “vicious propaganda” against Pakistan 'without having any solid evidence to back the claim'."

The report also reportedly says that Indian authorities failed to establish that the attackers entered from Pakistan and within hours of the assault, all the attackers were shot dead by the Indian security forces.

“However, the Indian authorities made it a three-day drama to get maximum attention from the world community in order to malign Pakistan,” the daily reported.

The JIT returned on Sunday after a five-day visit to India during which all evidence pertaining to the attack was shared with them, including the DNA of four terrorists, their identity as well as call records showing involvement of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists behind the attack on the Pathankot air base during the intervening night of January 1 and 2.

“The report concludes that the Pathankot attack looked like another false flag operation fully facilitated by the Indian army just to put the blame on Pakistan,” the source added.
