Passengers fall ill after consuming poor quality of food in Sealdah- Puri Duronto

Railways have started probe in this incident.

Passengers travelling by Sealdah-Puri Duronto fell ill after allegedly consuming poor quality food, reports Zee 24 Ghanta. According to report, the incident happened on Saturday. Many people fell ill after consuming food served by the railways. However, they have been discharged from the hospital after receiving preliminary medical attention. Police have reportedly started a probe in this incident. 

The report says that 23 passengers from Swarupnagar and Baduria block of Bengal boarded the Duronto train on Saturday. They were given meat and roti for dinner. The meat was undercooked. Even the roti was unpalatable. The passengers alleged that they felt sick soon after consuming the food. Some of them started vomiting, others felt acute stomach pain. However, there was no facility of even providing basic medical attention to the passengers. Expectedly, the passengers showed their anger after reaching Sealdah station. They protested in front of the train manager T Prasad. Police had to be deployed to bring the situation under control. Finally the tempers cooled and passengers left the station. 

This is the latest in the series of incidents where passengers have raised serious questions against food served in Indian Railways.
