Facing opposition flak on the issue of black money, BJP on Tuesday sought to wriggle out of the situation by saying that it was ready for a discussion on it.
"We are committed and sincere to bring back black money from abroad. Government is fully prepared for a discussion on black money. We are fully prepared to present the facts on the efforts to bring back black money," Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy told reporters after the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Party here.
The meeting was shifted to the Parliament House library today and saw Finance Minister Arun Jaitley speak on the GST issue even as Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu told the MPs to make this session fruitful.
Addressing the members, Jaitley said government is trying to get the GST bill in this session and get it passed by the next session. Read more

Stepping up attack on the government on the black money issue, Trinamool Congress MPs today blocked the main entrance of Parliament and threatened to derail House proceedings over the matter. The protest was later joined by Samajwadi Party and JDU.
The MPs, who had boycotted an all-party meeting called by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu, shouted anti-government slogans.
Majority of TMC MPs including Dinesh Trivedi and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar were at the gate shouting "Modi tanashai nahin chalegi" (Dicatorship will not be tolerated), "kala dhan wapas lao" (bring back black money) among others.
They said they will raise the black money issue on the floor of Parliament and seek the support of like-minded parties on this issue.
"BJP had promised that it would bring back black money after coming to power. It made a false promise," they said.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "Government is ready for discussion on all issues and there is no rigid attitude."
37 new Bills for introduction
The government will move 37 new Bills for introduction and taking up pending Bills for consideration and passing during the Winter session of Parliament. New bills to be introduced include Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Ordinance 2014, amendments to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Motor Vehicles Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, Textile Undertakings (Nationalisation) Laws (Amendment and Validation) Ordinance 2014.
63 bills already introduced are pending before Parliament, which incudes The Waqf Properties (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Bill, 2014, The Human Immunodeficiency Virus And Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (Prevention And Control) Bill, 2014, The Right of Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2014, The Drugs and Cosmetics (Amendment) Bill, 2013, The Merchant Shipping (Second Amendment) Bill, 2013, The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013 and The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill, 2013.
A day ago, ahead of winter session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoped that the session will be fruitful and praised positive role played by opposition in smooth functioning of Parliament in last session.
Narendra Modi said, "Just like the last session, I expect the same cooperation this time too. The winter session of the Parliament is starting today, good work for the nation will happen in a cool state of mind."
