A six-year-old male panther was killed when it was hit by a vehicle in Parsad area of Rajasthan's Udaipur district today.
This is second panther death in the last four days in the region.
The incident occurred in the wee hours today near Peepli village on National Highway-8, which passes through the forest area.
"Degradation of habitat and lack of prey in forest area force panthers to move out of their territory. The panther might have come on the road, thus becoming the victim," forest officer Bhagwati Lal told
