Pakistani troops targets 35 BSF posts in Jammu

Violating ceasefire for the third day in a row, Pakistani troops on Monday targeted 35 Border Security Force (BSF) posts at the International Border in Jammu.

Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked heavy mortar shelling in Ramgarh area in Samba and Kanachak area of Akhnoor. 

The firing started at 10 pm on Sunday night and is still going on intermittently. The BSF has retaliated.

On Saturday, in a major escalation, Pakistani troops on indulged in heavy "unprovoked" shelling and firing on 22 border outposts and 13 villages, killing two civilians and injuring six others including a BSF jawan along the International Border in Jammu sector.

Meanwhile, noting that ceasefire violations by Pakistan have increased, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said Indian security forces are responding effectively to protect the country's interests.
