All ports in Gujarat along with the entire security apparatus including the Border Security Force are on high alert after intelligence inputs that trained commandos from Pakistan would infiltrate Indian territory through the Gulf of Kutch via Harami Naka creek to create communal disturbance or carry out a terror attack.

The Coast Guard, which received the input, says the infiltrators, part of Pakistani commando force Special Service Group (SSG), are trained to carry out undersea attacks. It has alerted private companies along the coast and the area is under enhanced vigil and patrolling.

"We have already deployed Central Reserve Police Force personnel and heightened security measures on the ports after receiving inputs from security agencies," said Mukesh Kumar, vice-chairman and CEO of Gujarat Maritime Board.

Adani Ports and Logistics has instructed its shipping agents and all other stakeholders to take measures to "mitigate hostile attacks" with the "highest state of readiness" and report any suspicious person, vessel or activity to the marine control station and port operation centre immediately.

"Any suspicious activities by individuals, vessels, crafts or boats approaching towards the coast are to be tracked continuously and information to be disseminated to all concerned," an advisory read.

The development came on the day Union Home Minister Amit Shah was in the state.

Recently, in the wake of India's decision to scrap Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, Islamabad had deployed medium-range artillery and mobilised its army including the SSG and Border Action Team (BAT) along the Line of Control.

On the night of July 31-August 1, Indian forces thwarted a BAT attempt to infiltrate across the LoC at Karen sector. It was earlier reported that Pakistani army had also deployed SSG commandos along the Sir Creek area in Gujarat.

Last Monday, Pakistan premier Imran Khan had resorted to a nuclear threat in an address to his country on Kashmir. "India should remember that if the situation turns out worse and moves towards a war, both countries have nuclear weapons and one should remember that repercussions will be around the world, not just India and Pakistan."

Meanwhile, associates of Masood Azhar, chief of United Nations-listed terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, have reportedly been overseeing training of terror groups eager to cross LoC. Increased movement of terrorist has also been reported in Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot and Kotli in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
