The Indian Army averted a major tragedy on Friday when they foiled a Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT) attack on its patrol and killed two militants on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of North Kashmir's Baramulla district.

The attack was foiled three days after the army released a video showing the massive fire assault taking down the Pakistani posts abetting infiltration in Nowshera sector of LoC.

The incident occurred at 8.40 am on Friday when the two armed intruders infiltrated from the close vicinity of a Pakistani post into the Indian side in the Uri sector.

The infiltrators entered 500 meters inside Indian territory and came very close to the Indian post. A fierce fire fight broke out after Indian troops challenged the intruders. In a brief encounter, both intruders were neutralised.
