West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who met Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit at Nabanna on Wednesday, said that she has received an invitation to visit Pakistan.

"The High Commissioner of Pakistan Abdul Basit ji met me at Nabanna today. He has invited me to visit Pakistan," she tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan envoy termed the meeting as a 'dream coming true' and hoped that the relationship between West Bengal and Pakistan would flourish in the future.

"It's my dream coming true to have met the Chief Minister. I have submitted proposals to the CM and we would now follow them through and hopefully relations between West Bengal and federating units in Pakistan will flourish in the months ahead," said Basit.

"We have also invited her to visit Pakistan, so let's hope she would be able to visit Pakistan at some point of time," he added.
