Pakistan Rangers gave sweets to BSF personnel on Pakistan's Independence Day at Wagah Border. Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day today, on Sunday, August 14th.
Exchanging greetings and sweets on festivals like Eid, Diwali, Holi and Independence Day is part of the BSF and Pakistan Rangers tradition.
But this is amidst the ceasefire violation by the country that is currently taking place in Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
India's relation with Pakistan has been difficult with its neighbour over Pakistan calling dead Kashmiri militant Burhan Wani a martyr and its aggressive rhetoric on the Kashmir unrest.

India had recently summoned Pakistani envoy Abdul Basit and issued a strong demarche over Pakistan's continued support to cross-border terrorism in Kashmir, which has fuelled unrest in the Valley.
Pakistan recently suffered a terror attack in Quetta where 17 people were killed.
The ministers and army generals in the country hinted at India's involvement but ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.
