Delhi Congress here on Monday differed from Union minister P Chidambaram who put onus on them for supporting the AAP to form the government in Delhi. Chidambaram had said it was the Delhi leadership which wanted Congress to extend outside support to AAP. The Congress leaders in Delhi, however, feel that the Chidambaram’s view are his own.
“Chidambram is a very senior party leader and we respect his views. But as a party our views are different from his. The decision to support AAP was taken by the party high command,” said AS Lovely, Delhi Pradesh Congress party president. Soon after the results on December 8, Congress General Secretary incharge for Delhi Shakeel Ahmad, had said that the party would support AAP. Ahmad is believed to have made this announcement only after consulting the party high command.
