A day after the Supreme Court refused relief to Karti Chidambaram, his father former union finance minister P Chidambaram took to twitter offering to execute any document necessary to transfer alleged 'undisclosed assets' in favour of the government, in case they unearth any of these. In a series of tweets, Chidambaram alleged that wild and reckless allegations of 'undisclosed assets' were being made to silence his voice. "This will never happen," he tweeted.

His son also dared the Centre to disclose any overseas assets held by him or his family and seize them. "My father, mother, wife, and myself are income tax payees. If the government or its agencies can say we have these properties, we will execute decrees in their favour and the government can take their possession," he said.

On his behalf, Senior counsel Kapil Sibal told the apex bench, that the Central Bureau of Investigation was levelling 'reckless and wild allegations', and that nothing had emerged during the course of Karti's questioning by the central agency that pointed to the existence of undiscovered overseas properties owned by the family.

The CBI on Monday had presented to the Supreme Court a sealed cover containing details of investigations. The FIR, lodged by the CBI on May 15, had alleged irregularities in the approval granted by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to INX Media for receiving funds from abroad to the tune of Rs 305 crore in 2007 when Karti's father was the Finance Minister.

Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the CBI, told a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra that the investigation into the case was at a crucial stage and they have placed the details in the sealed cover.
