Over 1300 cases of issuance of caste certificates are pending with sub divisional magistrates (SDMs) who are unable to focus on this task due to other responsibilities, according to sources in the collector office.
Sandeep Soni, who is SDO of Indore town as well as magistrate for seven police stations besides CEO of AICTSL, has maximum 840 cases pending with him.
He is followed by Vijay Agarwal ( 314 cases), Sapna Jain ( 126 cases), DK Nagendra ( 27 cases), Rajnish Kasera (13) and Sharad Shrotriya ( one case).
Apart from this, due to problems in revenue and election works, the transferred tehsildars were not relieved by the collector.
However, the Election Commission has strictly instructed the government to transfer the officers working in a district for more than three years. Therefore, pendency is likely to increase once the transferred tehsildars are relieved are per the instruction of Election Commission.
