Now patients arriving at JK Lon Hospital will be getting world-class healthcare facilities.
For the first time in India, a 25-bed paediatrics ICU has been opened at this hospital.
After inaugurating the ICU, chief minister Ashok Gehlot said, “The ICU will prove a milestone in healthcare services, benefitting severely ailing children who need immediate attention of doctors. The facility will also help in decreasing infant mortality and maternal mortality rate.”
The new ICU is equipped with modern facilities which will reduce chances of spreading infections. There are 18 ventilators with triple label barriers and air filters.
It also has latest facilities to conduct medical tests. The ICU beds are ‘adjustable’. There is a facility of infusion pumps and multiple monitors in each bed.
There is also an online monitoring facility which enables doctors to use all types of catheters (medical devices that can be inserted in the body to treat diseases).
There are two beds (called ‘isolated beds in ICU’) which will be used for treating highly communicable diseases like
Medical superintendent at JK Lon Hospital Dr SD Sharma said, “For the first time in India, the patients will be provided with world-class healthcare facilities.”
He added, “The new facility will also help BPL patients as now we could accommodate more patients. Earlier, we used to send patients to private hospitals due to lack of empty beds at JK Lon. Now they will be able to avail this facility free of cost at this hospital.”
