Claiming that the Omar Abdullah-led government will be remembered as a "dark period" of Jammu and Kashmir, opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday appealed to the people to give a befitting reply to those who are responsible for their miseries.

"Omar's tenure would be remembered as a dark period of J&K. The coalition regime has done nothing to minimise woes of the common masses," PDP general secretary and MLC Yash Pal Sharma said. Addressing a function of party workers in Poonch, Sharma said that the ministers have "shamelessly utilised the tenure of six years just to mint money through illegal means".

"The six-year tenure of Omar Abdullah-led government of NC-Congress will be remembered in the history as one of the worst, incompetent and corrupt regime the state has witnessed so far," he said.
"...during the last six year not even a single step has been taken to mitigate the woes of the people," Sharma said and listed various scams which were exposed during the time. Although various scams were exposed during the last six years but action has not taken against the accused, he said and added that it seems that the Omar government has legalised corruption during his tenure.

Calling upon the people to teach a lesson to those who are responsible for their miseries, Sharma said that NC and Congress were equally responsible for ever increasing woes of the people. "Both the parties have betrayed people because during the last six years leaders of both the parties have shown their back to the people at the time of crisis," he maintained and exhorted the people to strength hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti to change their destiny.

"Only PDP can ensure bright future of every section of the society because this party is pursuing a revolutionary agenda which is formulated by incorporating wishes and aspirations of the people," Sharma said.
