Obama's story is an inspiration for the people: Meira Kumar

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Wednesday congratulated Barack Obama on his re-election as the US President, saying his story was an inspiration for the people.

Wishing Obama success, Kumar said his journey as a statesman and as the Head of the State is an inspiration for many, especially those who struggle and aspire for a life of dignity despite hardships.

The Speaker also recalled Obama's visit to Parliament of India in November, 2010 where he addressed Parliamentarians.

She said his speech had the perfect tone of human freedom and progress, and it had a spellbinding effect on everyone present there.

Kumar expressed hope that under Obama's leadership, the United States will get new energy and fresh dimensions.
