In the world of Twitter, Sushma Swaraj has always got support from leaders across the aisle for her humanitarian activities. This time around, India's vote for UN resolution against Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel capital gained massive support from Muslim leaders. One of them was AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal, who is one of the most prominent leaders from Assam.

He said on Twitter

This comment elicited a rather interesting cheeky reply from External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj.

She quote tweeted Ajmal's tweet with the comment,

The tweet obviously generated a lot of speculation as Sushma Swaraj made the rare exception of making a political comment, while acknowledging a thank-you note. Many right-wingers slammed her wondering if BJP is courting the Muslim vote by asking Ajmal to vote for them. Some even questioned if it was the main motive for India siding with Palestine going against strong allies like Israel and US? But many took it as a tweet made in a lighter vein by veteran Swaraj, which shouldn't be interpreted as having great political implications.

However Badruddin Ajmal known for his strident anti-BJP rhetoric made his stance clear on Twitter. He replied. " Our vote is always for India, Madam. The day BJP does not differentiate between Majority and Minority community, our vote will be for you". He further went on to clarify his statement by saying, "  I am grateful to the BJP for seeking our support but there is no question of supporting the BJP ever. The present situation has become so communally polarized. We can't be party to a government like this."

It's safe to say for now, Ajmal has doused all speculation of a future BJP-AIUDUF alliance. But then again, politics is an art of possibilities and nothing is impossible.  108 countries voted for UN resolution against Trump's decision which included long time US allies like UK and Germany. Only 9 countries voted against, including Israel and US.
