While the Maggi row is still raging, a woman in Lucknow reportedly found dead worms in her pack of Complan, an energy drink.
After failing the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) test, Nestle India had to withdraw all Maggi noodles packets across the country.
Immediately after Tanisha Rai Singhania reportedly found worms in a Complan packet, the FSDA authorities have ordered for a test of its sample.
Acoording to reports, a notice was also issued to the manufaturer of Complan for selling poor quality product.
According to a Hindustan Times report, Singhania recently bought the Complan pack and added a few spoons of the powder to the milk. Immediately, several worms were floating on the surface of the milk.
Her husband Darshan Singhania filed a complaint with the FSDA who shot a mail to the companu complaining about the substandard product.
There has been no response from the manufacturer of Complan as of yet.
Meanwhile, in a major setback to Nestle India Ltd, the Bombay High Court on Friday refused to stay orders of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and Maharashtra government, imposing a ban on sale of nine variants of the company's Maggi in the Indian market for being "hazardous" to public health.
On June 5, the FSSAI and its CEO passed an order, asking the company to withdraw and recall all its nine variants of Maggi from the market as they were unsafe and hazardous for human consumption. The impugned orders also asked the company to stop production, processing, import, distribution and sale of their products with immediate effect, said Nestle.
