After the election results for the three Northeast states, only Tripura is sure of the next Chief Minister. Biplab Deb, BJP’s chief ministerial candidate is a clear winner, but that’s not the case in Nagaland and Meghalaya.

With uncertainty in Meghalaya, there are at least three contenders — Conrad Sangma from the Nationalist People’s Party, the incumbent Mukul Sangma and the low-key Vincent Pala from Congress.

In Nagaland, the incumbent TR Zeliang and Neiphiu Rio are in the race, as there is no clarity on who will form the government. BJP’s support will be the key here.
