None of my family members have Swiss bank account, Narayan Rane denies claims

Senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane on Monday categorically denied that he or any of his family members were having accounts in foreign banks.

A media report on Monday named Rane's wife Neelam Rane and son Nilesh Rane, among others, in what it said was a new list of account holders in HSBC's Swiss banking arm.

"None of my family members have a foreign account," Rane told reporters here.

When asked if the revelation could be damaging for Congress, state unit president Manikrao Thakre said Rane had already made a statement refuting the report, and "there is nothing for the party to say on it".
