Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday hit out at Bhartiya Janata Party after the Income Tax department conducted raids in connection with alleged benami deals worth Rs 1,000 crore linked to him and others.

The IT department conducted raids and surveys on at least 22 locations in Delhi and adjoining areas

Hitting out at BJP, Lalu Prasad Yadav said that nobody can silence him and questioned which 22 places were being raided.

"BJP doesn't have the guts to silence Lalu's voice. If you try this, crores of Lalus will stand up across the country," Lalu Prasad Yadav said in series of tweets.

In another tweet, he said he will continue to fight against fascist forces and will not be scared by these tactics.

Taking a dig at the media, Lalu added, "All you educated illiterates, tell me which 22 places were raided. Lalu doesn't fear BJP-supporting media and other alliances."

Meanwhile, the BJP said that this was the day of accountability for the corrupt after the IT raids on Congress leader P Chidambaram's premises and properties allegedly linked to RJD chief Lalu Prasad.

The BJP had last week accused Prasad, his MP-daughter Misa Bharti and his two sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, both Bihar government ministers, of being involved in corrupt land deals worth over Rs 1,000 crore, and asked the central government to probe one such transaction in Delhi.

Lalu's RJD is a constituent of Bihar's ruling coalition led by Nitish Kumar.
