Olympian turned politician Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Thursday claimed that there was no stopping BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from becoming the Prime Minister.

"The whole country hopes that he will become the Prime Minister," Rathore, who has joined the BJP, said.

"For the first time the country has become united to bring in change. And, everything starts with a belief," the Athens Olympics silver medallist in double trap shooting said here during a promotional event.

Rahtore claimed that Congress would be no challenge for the BJP in forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

On Sourav Ganguly saying no to politics scotching speculation that he would join the BJP, Rathore claimed that the former India captain might have refused to join politics but knew in his heart which party he would like.

"Historically, this state has been very active in politics. There's a different standard of the politicians from this state. Sourav Ganguly knows in his heart which party he likes...," he said.

Rathore said he stopped chasing a gold medal because he wanted to serve the nation through politics.

"Once Pullella Gopichand had told me that he wanted to become a coach. But I thought by becoming an administrator I can bring in 10 coaches," he said.

Terming his joining politics as a big challenge, Rathore said "Now, I have jumped into a deep sea without a life jacket. I love taking challenges. Earlier, my success was limited to myself, but now if I become a part of the country then I will feel immensely proud."
