BJP has said neither the party nor the central government had any role to play in deciding on going in appeal against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's acquittal in the disproportionate assets case.

"It is the Karnataka government which should take a decision on going in appeal...neither the BJP nor Union Government has any role...," BJP National Secretary H Raja told reporters here last night and did not elaborate.

The Karnataka High Court had on May 11 acquitted Jayalalithaa and three others in the case. On the one year rule of NDA government, Raja claimed BJP had succeeded in delivering a corruption free rule and the country was rapidly progressing on all fronts. Earlier, Raja performed special poojas at Lord Amirthakadeswara temple, Thirukkadaiyur in connection with completion of one year in office by the Narendra Modi government.
