With BJP mulling legal opinion about moving court for cancellation of Lalu Prasad's bail for indulging in politics in alleged breach of bail conditions, the RJD president on Wednesday said he would have no qualms to be sent back to jail. Stating that Lord Krishna was also born in prison, Prasad said, "Today morning me and my wife Rabri Devi read in newspapers about BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi talking about cancellation of my bail and sending me to jail again. We laughed on this," Prasad told reporters.

"There is no problem if they send me back to jail as God Krishna was also born in a prison," Prasad, flanked by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Congress General Secretary CP Joshi, said in reply to a question. Alluding further to the mythological story, the RJD chief said "BJP should not forget that Lord Krishna had slayed demonic 'Kansa' after coming out of jail." Prasad was granted bail by the Supreme Court in December, 2013, a couple of months after he had been convicted in the fodder scam case and sentenced to five years in prison, besides Rs 25 lakh fine by a special CBI court in Jharkhand.

After the conviction Prasad was disqualified as Lok Sabha member from Saran and barred to fight election. Prasad has bonded with Nitish Kumar and Congress to take on BJP-led NDA in crucial Bihar elections.
Prasad who enjoys support among his numerously large Yadav caste who constitute almost 14 per cent of Bihar population has been on firing line of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders.

BJP yesterday said it would seek a legal opinion on moving court for cancellation of Prasad's bail as he was "doing politics in breach of bail terms." "We are taking legal opinion on moving court for cancellation of bail to the RJD supremo as he is doing politics in breach of bail terms," senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi had told reporters yesterday.
