Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Thursday said that no power in the world could save Congress from losing in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"The result for this election was already known after the announcement of the dates for the polls. People know it very well what will be the result of the upcoming polls. The whole country has agreed that this time this government would not last," said Modi.

"No power in the world can save the Congress party. The main issue is not winning in the elections, but people want the current government to be punished. In the past ten years. They have ruined the country and the common man," he said.

"There is nothing that the Congress has done for the people. In 2009 the Congress had said that they would provide employment to over ten crore people, but they did not keep their word. They had also said that the price rise would come down but it has become worse in the past decade," he added. He further said that the people running the Haryana government were behaving like V.I.PS and not like public servants.

"The people running Haryana instead of working as public servants are behaving like V.I.Ps. They are not going to last this time," said Modi. "The Congress is filled with corrupt ministers. The corruption in the government is increasing day by day and people want to get rid of it," he said.

"It is not about winning or losing in the elections. Losing is a part and parcel of politics but what people want is to put the corrupt Congress ministers behind the bars. My mantra is that neither do I take bribe nor do I let anyone take it," he added.
