No name from Maharashtra in toppers' list of CBSE XII standard boards

Not a single name from Maharashtra figures in the list of seven toppers in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Standard XII exams. The results of the exams were announced today for all regions.

Not a single name from Maharashtra figures in the list of seven toppers in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Standard XII exams. The results of the exams were announced today for all regions.

The all-India pass percentage has come down compared to that of last year, as has the Maharashtra pass percentage- from 93.5% last year to 91.59% this year.

A Sregurupriya, commerce student from RN Podar school, Santa Cruz, was the school's topper, with 96.2%. She said, "I did not give much importance to the CBSE exams. I was studying for my law entrance exams." Sregurupriya secured the 13th rank in the recently-held All India CLAT competitive exam and 35th rank in All India AILET exams. Sregurupriya had scored 99% in her CBSE 10th exam.

Mallika Fonseca, a science student from RN Podar school, secured 97.4% in the exams. During her academic year, she had been preparing for her entrance exam for the medical stream, which was on May 7. "I was focusing more on doing well in my medical entrance exam." She added, "I used to study for three to four hours a day for my board exams. The rest of the time I spent in studying for my medical entrance exam."
