Like other Congress leaders, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Chandrabhan is also confident of Congress party forming the next government in the state. Chandrabhan, who contested the Assembly elections from Mandawa constituency, said that Congress would be ahead of BJP and would definitely be forming the next government in Rajasthan. He said that on the basis of the feedback, the Congress party seems to be in a strong position in Bharatpur, Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions.
When asked about the number of seats that Congress might get, he refused to comment but stuck to his earlier claim that his party would again be forming the government. “The fight is between Congress and BJP. Other parties and independent candidates won’t go beyond 15 to 20 seats. Our party looks quite strong in Bharatpur, Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions and in Jaipur too, its performance is expected to improve,” said the PPC chief. Chandrabhan further said that there has been no Modi factor in the state and it was only the efforts of Election Commission and Congress government’s flagship schemes which motivated people to come out and vote in large numbers in the state.
“It’s the government’s flagship schemes and efforts of Election Commission which motivated people to cast their vote and strengthen the Congress in Rajasthan,” said Chandrabhan.
The PCC chief also said that no government has done so much work in the state as the current Congress government has done in the past five years. “The Opposition remained absent for four years. Ask people and they will tell you that Congress has done a commendable work & it will certainly return to power,” he said.
