Amid reports of hurdles between the AIADMK factions over merger talks, O Panneerselvam on Saturday officially acknowledged that talks are going on, and a good decision will be announced soon.
"There is no difference of opinion. Merger talks are going on cordially. We will announce a good decision in a day or two," said Panneerselvam speaking to media after consultations with the leaders of his faction.
The talks are being held as per the wish of party cadres, he added.
On Friday, Jayalalithaa's memorial at Marina Beach in Chennai was all set to witness the merger announcement of the two warring factions of AIADMK, headed by E Palaniswamy and O Panneerselvam.
However, after a while, the leaders started to leave the Amma memorial as the expectations for the much-awaited merger announcement faded.
The merger talks had come days after sidelined AIADMK (Amma) leader TTV Dhinakaran held a well-attended rally at Madurai in which about 20 legislators and six MPs participated.
