No boy will be ready to marry a girl who comes to mandap in jeans: MoS Satyapal Singh

Minister of State for Human Resource and Development Satyapal Singh on Sunday said at at a function in Gorakhpur that no one boy would marry a girl who comes to the mandap wearing jeans.

He said, “No boy will be ready to marry a girl who comes to the mandap (wedding stage) in jeans.”

The minister, sharing a stage with UP CM Yogi Adityanath at a function in Gorakhpur added, "Similarly, no saint will be revered if he gives up his traditional attire and wears jeans.”

He was making those remarks in context of the appropriateness of attire in Indian culture and was addressing a group of students at the concluding ceremony of the foundation fay of the Maharana Pratap Siksha Parishad (MPSP), the academic arm of Gorakhnath Temple.

The minister praised MPSP for preserving the values of Hindu culture and working in the field of education and health. The temple also runs hospitals, blood banks and Ayurvedic treatment centres.

He also released two books on the occasion,  ‘Bhartiya Sanskriti’ and ‘Gorakshpeeth : Yoga Evam Sant Parampara’, both of which contain articles by the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, Adityanath told students that human beings were god’s most wonder creation and no one was useless.
