Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) president Nitish Kumar on Monday said the BJP was likely to make its proposal regarding seat distribution within the ruling alliance for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls in three to four weeks, following which something would be finalised regarding the same.

Addressing media persons on the sidelines of Lok Samvad programme in Patna, the CM said, "The BJP chief was here to take part in the party's executive meet. We had breakfast and lunch together. It was a formal meet where a lot of things were discussed. Much of it is already in the public domain as he has said it the media. There is nothing more to add to it." Nitish was replying to queries on his meetings with Shah, who was in Patna in July 12.

"The BJP and JD(U) are working together in Bihar, but nothing has been discussed yet about the seat sharing for the Lok Sabha polls. However, there won't be much delay in it either. The BJP is likely to send its seat sharing proposal to us in three to four weeks, then we will talk about it," he said.

Roots for status

The Bihar CM also reiterated Bihar's long-standing demand for special category status.

The 14th Pay Commission had rejected the proposal.

Nitish said all parties have supported the idea and will present it before the 15th Pay Commission.
