Nitin Gadkari is 'Masiha of Kalyug', says Maharashtra Congress

Wednesday, 2 July 2014 - 4:32pm IST

After Aam Aadmi Party, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday came under attack from Mahrashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), after news reports were published for allegedly promoting the use of e-rickshaws for the benefit of a company run by his wife's brother. Although, the MPCC's criticism was rather 'sugar-coated' and sarcastic.

Terming Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as the 'Masiah' of Kalyug, MPCC on its Facebook page posted, “Gadkari has been taking tremendous efforts so that the poorest person can become a crorepati. His  'driver', 'accountant' have become the director of big companies.”

The post further stated, “Office of corporate companies are usually in large buildings, but Purti group members set-up the office in a Dubey chawl."

“Gadkari wanted to empower the common man and for that reason he has not only encouraged e-rickshaw project, but also overturned the ban on it. And then to bring this dream of his into reality, his relatives established an e-rickshaw manufacturing company. Why, then, the common man should not feel that the union minister doesn't have any commercial interest?”

Attacking the Narendra Modi government, statement further questions, "We were promised “Acche Din”, but are the so called “Acchee Din” for the ministers or common man?"

"However, if indeed, the BJP ministers are going to see good days first, that should not be an issue, since they too are the 'citizen' of this country," it adds mockingly

Jantane sirf aam khana chaiye, Guthliya ginneme kya rakha hai! Citizens should ask and pay attention at small questions like where the e-rickshaw is made, who is making, who will get the profit,” the post added.

After the controversy over Purti Group, Gadkari had denied having any links with the Purti Group of Companies. Also a statement was issued on behalf of Gadkari saying, “He has no commercial interest in the e-rickshaw manufacturing sector, nor any member of his family is associated with any e-rickshaw manufacturing firm.”
