Niti Aayog will soon be creating a knowledge digital hub, a platform which would act as a repository of government's best practices. A 'request for proposal' to select an agency has already been invited to this effect.

According to senior officials, the idea was to expand the services of the existing knowledge digital hub for dissemination reform-related ideas and best practices across governments.

Currently, Niti Aayog's knowledge and innovation hub, along with the Team India hub, gives technical advices to both the Centre and the states. The proposed knowledge digital hub will be an extension of the services of the knowledge hub.

A senior official said once the portal is operational, it would act as a great platform for both sharing of information as well as exchange of ideas, which would help in governance issues.

"The portal will enable users to access images and documents on government. The documentation of best practices shared will also help in making innovations in e-governance and public issues. It will also have updates about latest news and research," the official said.

The portal can also be eventually used for training and mentoring government employees since it would improve work quality through sharing of best practices, the official added.
