Nine killed, 27 hurt as bus collides with jeep in Madhya Pradesh

Nine persons were killed and 27 others injured on Wednesday in a collision between a vehicle ferrying a marriage party and a bus near Aama Jod here.

The jeep was on its way to Imllia from Aama village when a Katni-bound bus rammed into it.

While two persons died on the spot, the remaining seven succumbed to injuries at a hospital, police said.

The deceased were identified as Chironjilal, Khiladi Choudhary, Rammu Choudhary, Dukhiram Choudhary, Bakku Chouhary, Shukku Chouhary, Salim Khan, Kunj Bihari, Ramaiya Choudhary, they said, adding all were adults.

The injured were undergoing treatment at the district hospital, Katni and Community Health Centre, Shahnagar, police said.

Among the injured, the condition of two is serious, police said adding a case has been registered in this regard.
