Nine die, seven injured in two separate road accidents in UP

As many as nine persons were killed, and seven others were injured in two separate road accidents in Jaunpur and Kanpur districts of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

The first incident was reported from Jalapur Crossing on the Jaunpur-Varansi highway when the driver of a speeding trailer lost control and dashed into eight persons standing on the roadside on the highway. Six persons died on the spot, including a two-year-old girl, while two were admitted in the hospital in serious condition.

The driver, however, managed to escape. An irate mob jammed the Jaunpur-Varanasi Highway and set the Trailor on fire. Three shops also came under the blaze when fuel tank of the Trailor blew up engulfing nearby shops.

Jaunpur District Magisrate AM Bangari confirmed six deaths in the accident. Heavy police force has been deployed at the accident site and the jam was lifted after announcement of compensation to families of those died. 

In another accident, three persons were killed in another accident on Monday morning around 5 am when a speeding DCM Truck rammed into e-Rickshaw head on near Panki Power Station in Kanpur. Five others were injured in the accident. They have been admitted in the Hallet Hospital.

Those who died in the accident have been identified as Sarvesh Tiwari, e-rickshaw driver Manga Ram and Ali Khan. Whie Tiwari and Khan died on the spot, Mangar Ram succumbed to injuries in the hospital. The police have registered a case and sent the bodies for the post mortem.
