NID to award creators of innovative designs

The National Institute of Design (NID), Gandhinagar will announce the result of Bosch NID India Changers- 2012, a nationwide competition of students of all design institutes.

The National Institute of Design (NID), Gandhinagar will announce the result of Bosch NID India Changers- 2012, a nationwide competition of students of all design institutes, on Thursday.

Under the contest, three products designed by the students are shortlisted and two products are selected for honourable mention category award.

The competition was organised by the premier design institute in collaboration with BOSCH. Recently, the institute has tied up with the company to bring latest technology to the institutes’ classroom.

The shortlisted candidates include Sougat Hota from NID Gandhinagar, Aditi Agarwal from NID, Sanal Kurikose and team from Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore and Sneha Ashok from NID.

The two included for honourable mention award include Public Infocomm (NID, Ahmedabad) by Pritam Sarkar and Sustainable segregation (NID Ahmedabad) by Ratul Bhowmik, NID and Ankita Lahiri from NID.

The award will be handed over by the vice-president of Bosch Power Tools Division of India Vijai Singh Katiyar. Director of NID Ahmedabad, Pradyuma Vyas will remain present on the occasion.
