The National Investigation Agency (NIA) summoned top separatist leader and Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani's close aide Aga Syed Hassan Al Mousvi to appear before its investigating officer in Humhama on Friday.

You are hereby directed to appear before the undersigned (investigating officer) on November 2, 2018 at 10 am at Police Officers Mess, Humhama Srinagar in connection with the investigation of the case," reads the notice issued by NIA to Aga.

NIA had raided Aga's residence on Hurriyat leader Aga Syed Hassan at Budgam in September last year sparking massive protests. Supporters of Aga, an influential Shia cleric, had marched from different areas to his residence to protest the NIA raids last year.

"Yes I got summon today and I have been asked to report at Humhama. I do not know in which case they have summoned me. I will go tomorrow", said Aga

The fresh summons comes two days after the NIA raided the residences of fugitive Kashmiri businessman Nasir Shafi Mir and his relations in summer capital city of Srinagar on Tuesday.

NIA sleuths escorted by police and paramilitary forces raided the residences of Nasir Shafi Mir and his relations at Lal Bazar and Ishber area on Tuesday morning. However no one was arrested or detained in the raids. It was not immediately known whether any material was seized from the premises during raids

Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) strongly denounced the NIA notices to Hurriyat leaders Aga Syed Al Hassan Al Mousvi, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi and fresh raids on the Kashmiri businessmen stating "that these tactics are a part of a continuous plan to defame the movement and put pressure on the resistance leadership".

JRL is a conglomerate of Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Moderate Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik, who spearheaded the 2016 unrest in Kashmir.
