NIA conducts searches at eight places in FIF terror funding

The raids were carried out in continuation with the arrest of 43-year-old accused Mohammad Hussain Molani from Nagaor district in Rajasthan on Monday.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducts searches at eight places on Wednesday in connection with Falah-i-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) terror funding. The raids were carried out in continuation with the arrest of 43-year-old accused Mohammad Hussain Molani from Nagaor district in Rajasthan on Monday. 

“NIA carried out searches at eight locations across the country; Gonda (UP), Sikar and Jaipur (Rajasthan), Delhi, Valsad and Surat (Gujarat) and Kasargod (Kerala),” the agency said in it statement. 

During searches, the agency seized Rs 21 lakh cash, two kilogramme of gold, 26 numbers of sims cards, including three foreign SIM, 23 mobile phones, five Memory Cards, one Compact Disk, five Hard Disc, eight passports and various incriminating documents related to Dubai.

FIF Terror Funding case was registered by NIA on July 2, 2018 under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. As per the FIR, some Delhi-based individuals were receiving funds from FIF operatives based abroad and were using the same to further the terror activities.

Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation is a Lahore, Pakistan based organization established by Jamat-ud-Dawa. It is a front-end organisation of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), a terror organisation proscribed under UAPA. It was founded in 1990 by Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, a designated “Global Terrorist”.

Total four accused persons have been arrested by the NIA till date. The investigation is continuing to unearth the larger conspiracy, to collect evidence and to arrest the other accused persons.
