Following the arrest, the NIA team took the man to Delhi for further interrogation.
Early on Monday, a joint team of Jaipur police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) nabbed a man suspected of having links with terror outfit, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
The arrest was made at Jaipur airport after the man alighted from a flight. Following the arrest, the NIA team took the man to Delhi for further interrogation.
The arrest was made in the wee hours of Monday when the man – identified as Mohammed Hussain, a native of Gulzarpur village near Kuchaman city of Nagaur district – arrived at the airport. According to sources, the man had flown from Dubai to Jaipur and as the plane touched down, security personnel surrounded the plane and traced Mohammad. He was subsequently detained and taken to Sanganer police station for interrogation.
Sources further revealed that the man was on the National Investigation Agency and Intelligence Bureau's radar for his involvement in terror-funding operations and a Look Out Circular had also been issued against him.
Investigation agencies recently learned that Mohammad was to arrive in the country and would be reaching Jaipur. Thus, the agencies sprung into action and nabbed him.
Meanwhile, from the police station, Mohammed was taken to Delhi, where he is being interrogated about the sources from where the money was generated and collected. In addition, agencies are also trying to learn the methods through which money was transmitted.
Notably, in the past as well, the state Anti-Terrorist Squad busted several modules of the banned outfit SIMI and nabbed several youth. In May 2008, serial blasts rocked the city, which the investigating agencies later found, were conducted by Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI).
