The election of a new RSS team will be held during a three-day meeting of Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), the highest decision-making body of the organisation, beginning Friday.

"The process of election is followed, like proposing a name which is seconded by two others, and if only one name is suggested, the person is declared elected for the post. But, there is no contest as such," Akhil Bhartiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS Manmohan Vaidya told PTI.

He said some new people are generally inducted into the team during the triennial conclave of ABPS.

However, sources said that no major changes are likely in the top hierarchy.

There have been speculations that Sangh's present General Secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi may be replaced by Dattatreya Hosabale from Karnataka, but a senior RSS leader refuted the rumours.

The triennial meeting of ABPS is held in Nagpur, while one meeting each is held at a northern and southern venue in the country every alternate year, the sources added.

Over 1,600 members of ABPS from all over the country are likely to attend the three-day meeting.

BJP National President Amit Shah, who had met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Bhaiyyaji Joshi in Nagpur last week, is likely to arrive here on the first day of the ABPS meet, sources close to BJP said.
