New education policy in Haryana soon; to give importance to moral values

Haryana's new education policy would be announced in the first week of July, which would include chapters on moral education, lessons from 'Gita', and works of poets Raskhan and Rahim.

Haryana's Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, who was interacting with an 8-member delegation of computer lab assistants who had called on him here today, said the BJP government, while imparting modern education to its students also wants them to imbibe moral values.

Meanwhile, Sharma, according to an official release, urged the guest teachers, who are agitating in Mahendergarh as their services have been dispensed with, to come forward for a dialogue. He said that a two-member committee including the Director Secondary Education and Director Elementary Education has been constituted to negotiate with guest teachers under the ambit of the law.

Sharma said the government would consider to give those teachers relaxation in recruitment, grace marks in interview, weightage in examination and also a mercy chance. Their experience would also be considered, he said, as per the release.

The minister said the state government has released about Rs 71 crore to pay pending salary of laboratory attendants and computer teachers. The minister, who also holds the portfolio of transport, said, that 1,000 posts of drivers have been advertised and they would be recruited on a contract basis and their salary would be Rs 12,000.
