In a bizarre incident, a group of 15 masked men went on a stabbing spree in South Delhi's elite Sangam Vihar area on Saturday, reports The Indian Express

Six persons have been detained on charges of attempt to murder,after two people got seriously injured.  The motive behind this incident is still not clear and police are probing the case. However IE reports that the goons were from neighbouring Tigri village who tried to create unrest on Janmashtami. 

Two residents suffered knife injury while four were mildly injured. Stunned locals gheraoed the local police station after the goons created ruckus. Police claim that six have been nabbed and other five have been already identified. According to the locals, in B Block of Sangham Vihar while they were celebrating Janmashtami, 15-20 goons came flashing knives and country made pistols. They fired shots in air and then resorted to violence according to eye-witnesses quoted in the report. The locals believe assailants were drunk at the time of the incident.
