A 21-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped by three men in a moving car in South Delhi’s Amar Colony on Monday night, police said.

The police registered a case in this connection and arrested all the three accused from their homes in Moti Bagh area on Tuesday morning within 12 hours after the incident came to light.

The accused have been identified as Arif, Mubarak and Vijay, all in their early 20s, said Romil Baaniya, Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police.

They were nabbed on the basis of the complaint from the victim. The victim made the call to the police control room on Monday night from Garih in South Delhi, alleged that the men had raped her in their car and dumped her there.

Since one of the accused men was known to the woman, the police did not encounter much trouble in identifying and nabbing all the suspects.

The woman has told police that she is a native of Jharkhand and has been living in Tughlaqabad area for the past few months. She had been on the lookout for a job when she befriended Arif last month.

Arif had allegedly promised to help her bag a job and called her to South Delhi on Monday saying he had arranged a job interview for her. When she met him in his car, Arif was allegedly drunk and forced himself on her, she told police.

The other two men also took turns to rape her in the moving car before dumping her in an isolated stretch of land, she alleged.
