Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a poll rally in Haryana's Sirsa on Saturday slammed the Congress party saying it affiliated to its culture but never respected Indians' culture.

Speaking on the Kartarpur corridor, PM Modi said, "The distance and the obstacles between the holy place of our Guru Nanak Dev - Kartarpur Sahib and us, is now going to be eliminated. The helplessness to watch it through a pair of binoculars, for 70 years, is now being eliminated."

"The Kartarpur corridor is almost complete now. This opportunity has come seven decades after independence, 70 years went by. What can be a bigger misfortune than this that we had to see a holy place from afar, through a pair of binoculars?" PM Modi asked.

Lashing out further at the Congress party, PM Modi said, "Were people responsible to mark line of partition in 1947, didn't think that devotees shouldn't be kept away from Guru by 4 km? Should Congress government not have made effort to eliminate this distance? Congress and parties affiliated to its culture never respected Indians' culture."

Further tearing into Congress party, PM Modi said, "First a part of us was given away, then Sufi culture was finished and then the system of discrimination with Jammu, Ladakh began. There was continuous injustice with Jammu, Ladakh, Kargil - lines of discrimination were drawn.

"Then a move was made where Kashmiri Pandits were murdered in Kashmir, daughters were raped, and they were forced to leave Kashmir," PM Modi added.

Lauding his government for taking strong action against terrorists, PM Modi said, "Earlier there used to be bomb blasts in the country, did they stop or not? Now, terrorist are killed by entering their homes. Those who nurture terrorism are crying in front of the world." The Prime Minister said this in Rewari.

"After coming to power we started the mission to strengthen our forces. Today, advanced submarines to advanced fighter aircraft like Rafale, they are part of our forces. The earlier government was going to shut Tejas aircraft in a box, today same aircraft is ready to serve Air and Navy," he said.
