NEET: CBSE issues strict dress code; rigorous checking of candidates

The first edition of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) will be held on May 1 and CBSE has issued the dress code for exam along with other instructions. Students cannot wear shoes but wear sandals or slippers. All accessories like earrings, nose pins, chains and necklaces will also be checked by officials. 

The security for this exam has been upped and as a result stringent measures are being taken. Students have been asked to wear open shoes so that they won't be able to hide any chits and notes. This year, according to Bangalore Mirror, students' ears will be specifically checked so as to ensure there are no Bluetooth devices being carried by them. They cannot carry mobile phones, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands, wallets, goggles, hand bags, hair pins, hair bands, belts and caps. 

Students also can't take in any stationery materials like texts (printed or written), bits of papers, geometry/ pencil boxes, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, scale, writing pad, pen drives, eraser, calculator, log table, electronic pens or scanners will also not be allowed. Students cannot wear wrist watches, carry cameras, metallic items, eatables - opened or packed, water bottles and so on.

The prescribed clothing for the exam is light clothes so that they won't be able to hide any instruments or communication devices. The ideal outfit is half sleeves with small buttons, and no badges or brooches. Those who are wearing any religion-mandated clothing have to report at 8:30 am so that they can be checked thoroughly.
