NDFB(S) militant killed in encounter

A hardcore NDFB(Songbijit) militant was on Thursday killed in an encounter with a joint team of police, CRPF and Army personnel in Kokrajhar district of Assam.

Based on a tip-off about two/three NDFB(S) cadre having taken shelter in Ultapani forest, a joint operation was launched following which an encounter took place with the militants during which one of them was killed, IGP L R Bishnoi said.

One AK-56 rifle with magazine, 32 live rounds, 18 fired case and two hand grenades were recovered from the slain ultra, Bishnoi said.

Search operation is on for the other insurgents.
