The NDA government would think about indigenous manufacturing of defence weapons, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley today here said. The Union minister said army buys seventy per cent weapons from international market, but the new government will think of manufacturing weapons in the country only.

"No government bothered about manufacturing of weapons in the country at its own, but the NDA government would think about it," he said during his visit. Attacking Congress, Jaitley claimed, "Congress left the nation in very bad circumstances, as economy of the nation was badly shuttered but BJP managed under the leadership of Modi." He said federal power of the nation is backbone of the country. Election comes and goes but in the political calendar there is no last day.

He said all party workers should put their energy between Chandigarh and Delhi for the development in the state rather to indulge in petty matters. Today, as we have power in our own hand, we have to make blueprint to boost up trade, to set up drug de-addictions centres, he said. He said Amritsar has great importance on the world map due to the Golden Temple and other historic and religious places, so here there is need to make Amritsar, a "Dream City", so special attention and focus is to be given to Amritsar. Jaitley also commended Modi's decision to abolish the Planning Commission and to bring a new body in its place.
