Rohit Shekhar, the son of political leader ND Tiwari, was smothered to death, revealed the post-mortem report on Saturday. The report also mentioned that an ‘unnatural death’, prima facie, was caused by smothering the victim with a pillow.

“Following the reports, Shekhar’s death probe was transfered to the Crime Branch of Delhi police. While we have filed a case of murder, the autopsy report suggests death due to smothering. Police teams have also analysed the CCTV footage of the crime scene,” said a senior police officer.

The cops also found that Rohit had gone to Uttarakhand to cast his vote on 17th April. He returned to Delhi the next day evening. There are five security cameras at his Defence Colony residence in south Delhi.  “On checking the security camera footages, it was found that Rohit consumed alcohol with security guards and staff. later, he went to his room. It was also found that only three cameras were working. Prima facie, it appeared that there was no foul play in his death,” said the officer.
