Naxals set ablaze vehicles, bridge building equipment

The euipment which were set abaze were being used for building a bridge between Maharashtra and Telangana.

A group of Maoists on Wednesday set ablaze two vehicles and construction equipment used for building a bridge between Maharashtra and Telangana in Adilabad district, police said.

The incident happened in the wee hours on Wednesday between 2 to 3.30 AM when the ultras set on fire a tipper, a tractor besides two construction machines belonging to a private company which had undertaken construction work on Bejjur-Aheri bridge near Gudem village of Adilabad in Telangana, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Kagaznagar Sub-Division) G Chakravarthi said.

"The tipper and tractor were partially burnt and the construction equipments were also partially damaged in the burning incident," the DSP told PTI. "Maoists from Maharashtra are suspected to be behind the burning incident who fled after setting the vehicles on fire," another police officer said adding they are in the process of registering a case. Further probe is on.
